Butt Enhancement – Buttock Lift
Buttock Augmentation (fat grafting)
Not all women are born with the voluptuous behind that some have come to feel is ideal. Unfortunately, if you don’t have those genes, no amount of exercise can give you an “apple bottom.” Buttock augmentation, also known as a Brazilian Butt Lift, is a great option to give you the round buttocks nature didn’t.
The Procedure
This procedure is typically done under general anesthesia, on an outpatient basis. Fat is removed very carefully from donor areas (usually the abdomen or back) and processed to clean the adipocytes. The fat is then injected, in very thin layers, into the buttock muscle and subcutaneous tissue. This is a very delicate procedure, as the injected fat must be carefully “sculpted,” to create a natural effect. An additional benefit is liposuction of another area to harvest the fat cells.
Injected fat must be meticulously inserted because nearly 1/3 of it is reabsorbed. To compensate for this loss, Dr. Diehl will inject excess fat (overcorrection), and may need to repeat the process in several months.
The Recovery
Once the procedure is complete, compression garments are worn for several weeks to reduce swelling. You will experience some bruising and tenderness for several weeks, but can expect to return to normal activities in two to four weeks. Best results are obtained when you do not sit on the grafted area for up to 3 weeks – lying and standing does not disrupt or compress the new fat cells.
