Labiaplasty (labia minora surgery)
If you are afflicted with an oversized, asymmetric or misshapen labia minora, resulting in uncomfortable intercourse, irritation with exercise, visibility in swimsuits/clothes, moisture retention or self-esteem issues, labia minora reduction (labiaplasty, labia plasty, labioplasty or vaginal rejuvenation) may be an excellent solution. These procedures are becoming increasingly common. At your consultation, Dr. Diehl will discuss whether labiaplasty surgery is a good option for your specific needs.
The procedure generally takes 1 hour and is frequently performed under local anesthesia. There is also a general anesthesia option if that is your preference.
After surgery, you can expect mild discomfort and swelling. In most cases, these will subside in one-two weeks. Labial incisions rarely result in noticeable scarring.
