Dr. Tannan will be seeing all breast correction patients
If your breast developed such that they are “droopier”, long or “tubular” and lack a normal shape, you may have tuberous or constricted breast deformity. Luckily, this condition can be improved through a combination of procedures that can give you breasts that are more lifted and fuller. Raleigh plastic surgeon Dr. Tannan is skilled and experienced in breast correction surgeries and can work with you to achieve the results you desire.
You are not alone in seeking a medical solution for a breast abnormality—the American Society for Aesthetic Plastics Surgery reports that up to five percent of women undergoing breast surgery seek relief for tuberous breast deformity. Variations of tuberous breast deformity can include breasts that hang such that they are tube-like in appearance, and areolas that appear over-sized or puffy. Tuberous breast deformity can affect just one or both breasts, and can affect both women and men.
Your Individual Goals
Your breast correction plastic surgery goals will be discussed realistically with Raleigh plastic surgeon Dr. Tannan. Breast corrections are often performed in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery. Together you will decide which procedures Dr. Tannan will perform in order to achieve your desired results. You will set a date for surgery and be given instructions about how to prepare. You will also schedule a pre-operative appointment to review your medical history, take pre-operative photographs, and (if you are also undergoing breast enlargement surgery) experiment with sizer implants.
Breast Correction Procedure Details
Your breast correction procedure will be performed under general anesthesia. Through a combination of techniques similar to those used in breast lift (to achieve a more perky breast appearance) and breast reduction (to remove excess skin and tissue).
Breast augmentation is also an option for breast correction patients desiring increased volume and a curvier figure, or to balance asymmetrical breasts following or during a correction procedure. Like many of Dr. Tannan’s breast augmentation patients, you may report increased confidence and a lasting appreciation of your enhanced breasts.
You may be sore for a few days after your breast correction procedure, but soon you will be able to resume most normal activities while following the post-operative precautions.
