Dr. Diehl is seeing breast reduction patients
If you are considering breast reduction you already know the physical and psychological toll overly-large breasts can take. Back pain, neck pain, headaches, and breathing problems are only part of the equation. A disproportionate figure and the inability to find well-fitting, complimentary clothing can lead to dissatisfaction and diminished self-esteem. Breast reduction has a very high patient satisfaction because the size of the breasts can be very inhibiting both physically and emotionally. We regularly hear patients tell us that they have more self-confidence and are able to exercise more easily. This, coupled with greater ease finding clothing, results in a high patient satisfaction and generally healthier lifestyle.
The surgery is done under general anesthesia in our AAAASF surgical suite for optimal patient safety. Incisions for reductions follow the contour beneath the breast in the fold, around the areola, and vertically connecting the two. Dr. Diehl will then remove excess tissue, fat and skin from the breast. Next, Dr. Diehl repositions nipple, areola and underlying tissue and re-contours the breast to help create a natural, smaller appearance. Dr. Diehl does not use drains with her breast reductions.
Sutures used in breast reduction surgery are dissolvable and do not need to be removed. As with other breast surgeries, you will be released with a compression bra. While some scarring is unavoidable, with proper care, with time they will become more faint. Most patients have mild to moderate discomfort for several days and are back to work with lifting/pushing/pulling precautions in about a week.
Breast Reduction Results
Breast reduction patients report some of the highest rates of satisfaction. The reduction of back and neck pain post-procedure coupled with a more proportionate shape allows the ability to wear a wider-variety of fashions contributes to increased self-esteem and self-confidence.
