Vaginal Rejuvenation: Reclaim, Restore, Revive
This non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment can reduce painful vaginal atrophy (due to hormonal changes or cancer treatments), improve sexual satisfaction with increased sensitivity, help with urinary incontinence / stress incontinence, tighten the internal and external vagina, and result in a comprehensive vaginal rejuvenation. Stress urinary incontinence is common for mothers and manifests as leakage of urine with a sudden cough, sneeze, or a jump. We have the pleasure of working with Dr. Margueritte Gilkey, a gynecologist with 30+ years of practice experience. She and/or our amazing nurses will be involved in the ThermiVa treatments.
The ThermiVa treatment uses non-invasive radiofrequency energy to gently heat the tissue to rejuvenate collagen without discomfort or downtime. Vaginal rejuvenation can be helpful when childbirth and the natural aging process cause changes which may affect feminine wellness. A particularly strenuous vaginal childbirth, multiple births, and the effects of menopause can cause physical changes which can rob women (and their partners) of their sense of well-being and happiness.
The advantage of a nonsurgical vaginal rejuventation is that there is no downtime and no anesthesia necessary. Unlike other vaginal rejuvenation devices, there is no tissue sloughing and no need for numbing before the comfortable treatment. The optimal treatment is a series of 3, spaced 4 weeks apart. Touch-up procedures are recommended about every year (one, not the series of three). Touch-up treatments are standard for any non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation.
For patients with enlarged labia, a labiaplasty may be more appropriate for correction. Labiaplasty will surgically make the labia minora smaller. This can dramatically improve discomfort due to large “inner lips”. For patients that experience irritation with exercise, “pinching” during normal activities, annoying moisture retention due to bulk of tissue, and discomfort during intercourse because of labia tissue getting caught, a surgical correction may be more effective. See our labiaplasty page for more information.
